Vinilinės plokštelės
Paprastai tariant, vinilinės plokštelės – tai besisukantys diskai, naudojami muzikai saugoti. Šiuose analoginiuose muzikos saugojimo įrenginiuose yra įrašyti moduliuoti spiraliniai grioveliai, kurių kitimas priklauso nuo garso skleidžiamų bangų. Iš pradžių vinilinės plokštelės buvo vadinamos fonografo disko plokštelėmis, gramofono plokštelėmis arba tiesiog plokštelėmis ir buvo gaminamos iš tam tikros rūšies dervos, vadinamos šelaku. Tik maždaug XX a. viduryje, kai šių plokštelių gamybai buvo pradėtas naudoti polivinilchloridas (PVC), išpopuliarėjo pavadinimas „vinilinės plokštelės“. Jų grojimui ir muzikos įrašymui naudojami grotuvai, paprastai vadinami patefonais, fonografais arba gramofonais. Fonografo plokštelės buvo komercinė muzikos saugojimo ir atkūrimo forma jau nuo XIX a. pr. Vis dėlto, apie 1991 m. pradėjo populiarėti kompaktiniai diskai (CD) ir plokštelių rinka sumažėjo, jos buvo gaminamos mažesnėmis partijomis. Tačiau šiomis dienomis neabejotinai regimas vinilinių plokštelių atgimimas. Vinilinių plokštelių populiarumas ir pardavimai nepaprastai išaugo, ypač tarp muzikos entuziastų ir kolekcininkų. Nuo 2017 m. pasaulyje veikia tik 48 gamyklos, todėl šiais laikais vinilinės plokštelės laikomos vertingais antikvariniais eksponatais.
